frankfurt

Frankfurt, the financial hub of Germany, is an accessible, logical little city with modern amenities and old-world charm. It made sense as the backdrop for a global meeting and happened to be the headquarters of the organization I was photographing. Amidst a blend of impressive architecture and traditional German flair, mentors and their mentees convened to build and deepen their bonds and discover new ways to grow.

The teams gathered at the original farm where their organization started - a beautiful little country compound that served as a the PERFECT setting for lunch and group portraits. Everyone loves an origin story, AND a fabulous photo op, and this was IT! Germany in a nutshell. I always encourage the teams that I'm with to get totally into their social media thang, whatever that may be. But, isn't it an amazing gift to have a professional on site to truly document the experience? Your hands are free to be immersed in the experience, I deliver a complete narrative, and you now have images that your organization can use over and over again. It's a win for everyone.

ATHENS

When I was a middle schooler, finding my creative voice and learning about the world, some themes just kept repeating: travel, photography, and food. Well, low and behold, my life is filled with those things, often all at once. Greece is so many things... historical, mystical, pungent, and delicious. What a place to gather!

This group's Global Summit was based around building a global team for a product launch, and this was my first exposure to the meticulous planning and preparation that accompanies solutions to rare diseases. While I'm photographing, I often listen to the presentations and brainstorming sessions that are part of my event coverage...what an eye opener! The complexities of development, delivery and marketing are mind-boggling. Knowing that such committed and capable people are behind the wheel is so reassuring, and I am honored to photograph them. The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center was a unique venue, architecturally stunning and a shining example of environmental sustainability.

A lot of conference activity needs to be indoors, but my pals at Project Velocity Inc. made sure that there was plenty of site-seeing and experiential learning to balance out the heavy duty think sessions. Hot and steamy, the climb to the Acropolis was worth the effort. Divided into teams with private tour guides, the Summit participants ooohhhed and aaahhhed as we ascended this historical landmark. Truly a unique experience. The accompanying museum tour was just as juicy, but alas...my cameras were not allowed. https://www.theacropolismuseum.gr/en

san diego

Oh San Diego...you complete me. Having lived in California for more than five years, I know that this state can deliver when it comes to perfect weather and dramatic scenery. But, I had forgotten just how gorgeous and rejuvenating it is, and this was a much needed reminder. This Women's Retreat required something truly special, and The Rancho Bernardo Inn was exactly that. Special. Tucked inside this magnificent golf resort and spa, some profound magic sparkled among these talented, forward thinking and powerful female leaders.

As an entrepreneur, I know how daunting it is to speak up, dare to be different, find footing and earn credibility. It can be especially challenging as a woman. Witnessing these ladies tackle their day to day challenges with a growth mindset was truly inspiring! The icing on the cake? A revelatory talk about building confidence from Lisa Sun, Founder & CEO of "Gravitas." Hosting prolific hands-on speakers is such an incredible way to fire up an event, and Lisa's hilarious delivery was an injection of entrepreneurial energy. Take note: Craig, our male camera-man was just as into the event as all of the ladies! : )

Martha's Vineyard

The quintessential American East Coast Summit. Martha's Vineyard was a dazzler...if you want to wow your photographer with backdrops, settings, and opportunities, this is how to do it. This one stands out in the landscape of experiential meetings as a stellar example of how business and play MUST coexist. This Energy Sector event aimed to please, especially those with families. Martha's Vineyard is synonymous with family fun, and being able to build your business and family memories simultaneously is priceless.

Kick-off cocktails started the affair on a dreamy summer night in Edgartown. Atria served as a fresh and colorful outdoor setting for an initial mingle. Billowy hydrangea blooms softly framed the resort-chic guests who cheerfully snacked and snipped on this perfectly Americana evening. Can't think of a better way to welcome international guests to our diverse landscape.

As the saying goes: "all work and no play..." There was nothing dull about this Summer Summit! If you really want to spice up a business party, I suggest you get out the Corn Hole. Sleeves were rolled, bets were placed, and the competition was FIERCE. We finished off the weekend with a catamaran ride around the island. Does it get any more beachy? Imagine it...sun-soaked, wind-swept professional portraits.
