GLOBAL EXPERIENCES
what makes them special?
I've been extra lucky lately, tagging along on some epic adventures. In June alone, I dined on a boat gently bobbing along the Thames, "tagged" the walls of a London tunnel, and tuk-tuked my way through sun-drenched Madrid. All ridiculously fun. But...the real showstopper? A dreamy, sun-kissed slice of Mediterranean heaven just south of Athens: The Margi Farm. Olive groves, salty breezes, the whole magical package — the kind of place that makes you rethink your life choices in the best way.
farm to table
Traveling for work can be really hard on people.... long flights, lost family time, tight timelines and maybe even...forced camaraderie? So when it comes to helping a team feel truly engaged, enlightened, and cared for, the setting has to do some of the heavy lifting. Margi Farm didn't just lift...it transported. This was Greece at its most unguarded: sun-bleached stone, olive trees leaning into the breeze, and that particular gold-hour light that only seems to exist on a Mediterranean summer evening. As I walked around the grounds I felt a simultaneous blend of deep peace and sensory illumination.
Lavender and Jasmin scented the light winds as the distinct smells of cucumber and garlic rose to the forefront. This was an immersive farm to table cooking lesson for 135 people...the tzatziki was PRESENT. As teams huddled over cutting boards and competed to plate the best dish, I watched the jet lag visibly lift off of everyone, replaced by something lighter: tranquility, laughter, and joy. Food really is a universal language, and that night, a patio full of global wanderers was speaking it fluently.

personality +
In between all the June gigs, partner-in-crime and booking-agent-extraordinaire Carrie and I stole a few quiet moments to cook up a little branding magic of our own. Carrie is a light and bright world traveler who leaves no stone unturned when it comes to creating memories. She's COMMITED.
She’s been giving me expert advice for years, and her tips have saved my bacon on numerous occasions. As fellow midwesterners we’ve learned that we travel together in blissful synchronicity...never missing an opportunity to dive right in with a can-do attitude. When I’m on the road I think it’s important to align myself with people who are willing to push the limits, but also understand when I’m low on capacity. Carrie gets me.
Always a consummate professional, Carrie is well versed in what it takes to create memorable experiences. She tries new things and takes copious notes,
always putting herself in her clients’ shoes. This self proclaimed picky eater knows how to make sure that even the most timid among us are satisfied.
Note to her husband Gene- she did NOT try the pulpo in Athens. : )

Animals always steal the show
If you've been following along, you already know my proclivities: anything with fur, feathers, hooves, or a suspicious amount of personality.
At The Margi Farm, the animals are technically the supporting cast. But in my heart? They're the main event.
There was a delightful little gap between my arrival and the arrival of the group I'd actually come to photograph, and I did not waste a single second of it.
I marched straight into the business of making new best friends, four-legged and otherwise.
Consider this your public service announcement: if your nervous system is feeling frayed, fried, or generally uncooperative, may I prescribe a few hours on a farm? No appointment necessary. Goats don't take insurance. You're welcome in advance.
